The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Atiba Local Government Area of Oyo State, Azeez Adegbile has been assassinated by unknown gunmen on Wednesday in his hometown in Oyo State.

Adegbile was gunned down in his residence at Akodudu Area around Eleven-Fifty PM through the windows before setting his house on fire.

The elder brother of the deceased, Mudashiru Adegbile said the incident was totally unexpected when the assailant struck.

The State Commissioner of Police, Baba Adisa Bolanta said crack Police detectives had been sent to unravel the circumstances which surround his death.
